Soup and Salad Dinners

Community Soup and Salad Dinners First Friday of Each Month

Don't miss the outstanding food and company once a month at the library at 5:30pm. The meals are funded, in part, by Silver City Task Force, and prepared by chef extraordinaire Cashion Callaway with assistants Bonnie Brown, Sara L. and others.

Please RSVP by signing up on the sheet at the post office. This is a participatory dinner, so everyone contributes ingredients and/or helps set up and clean up.

While you're at the dinner, you're welcome to browse the library collection and borrow books. We've recently updated most of the collection with fresh titles including a collection of F. Scott Fitzgerald and popular recent fiction such as Twilight, The Lovely Bones, Away by Amy Bloom and Written on the Body by Jeanette Winterson. In children's fiction, we have Jodi Lynn Anderson's May Bird series (Warrior Princess and Among the Stars).

We also have a large collection of cook books, and reference on gardening, science, Nevada history, archaeology, and authors such as Bob Elston, Jr. and Karen Wright, etc.

We also have two new youth encyclopedia sets thanks to Lyon County Libraries and Louise Crawford and Washoe Libraries. Be sure to have a look at the growing collection of new DVD's on science topics, and the current periodicals incluing Ms, Archaeology, Howard Hughes Medical Institute Bulletin, and Mother Jones.
